The "Damage per 10 seconds" stat available for weapons and most spells in "Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna" is invaluable. Once you have combat spells in use, make sure your mages are always using the best ones available, i.e. Read the section on "Control Groups" below to find quick ways to heal your party but not leave a mage always assigned to healing. You may end up spending substantial time rescuing the mage. This tactic keeps the party healthy, but that mage always ends up on the short end of the stick experience wise, becoming easy prey for any monsters that attack. The first rule is to try and keep your mages from becoming "medics." With a large party it's often convenient to set one of your Nature Mages to Healing Wind and just leave him/her alone. This will give the mages access to appropriate weapons, armor, and spells as they travel with the party, as they won't tend to lag behind in skill levels. For this reason it's important to try to balance experience awarded across your party. Melee characters and, to a lesser extent, ranged characters, tend to gain experience faster than mages. Mages also gain experience from casting healing spells, but at a much slower rate than directly attacking critters. Any spell that produces damage will give you experience. Experience is what increases your skills (Melee, Ranged, Nature and Combat Magic) and your stats (Strength, Dexterity and Intelligence). Buy a backpack for every party member as soon as you can.Įxperience in "Dungeon Siege" is awarded according to how much damage your party members execute. The backpack, which provides 50 percent more storage space, means (at least theoretically) you'll be able to sell 50 percent more loot for 50 percent more gold and upgrade to equipment that is 50 percent better. The equipment each player carries has a huge impact on your ability to survive in "Dungeon Siege." In many cases, unless your characters are equipped with high-level armor and weapons you will find regions almost impassible.
